Started at Pima: 2017 (Assistant coach at Pima in 2010).
Education: BS of Business Management (University of Phoenix); Graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1991.
Coaching/Player Experience: Assistant Coach at Salpointe Catholic (2011-2017); 520 Baseball Elite (Current Owner); Played four years at Sunnyside High School under Ernie Palomarez. A member of the Junior Olympic Baseball team that captured a silver medal in Cuba (1990). High School All-American (1991). Played at the University of New Mexico under coach Rich Alday where he was the WAC Conference Freshman of the Year (1992), WAC Player of the Year and All-Conference (1993); NCAA All-American (1993, 1994). National Olympic trials (1993). Cape Cod League Cotuit Kettlers Kenai, Alaska NBC World Series Champions. Drafted by the San Diego Padres (1994-1996). MVP Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (1996); Milwaukee Brewers (1997).
Personal: Married to Amber Fernandez and have two sons; JC plays college baseball at the University of the Southwest and Antonio graduates high school in 2018.
