The Pima Community College baseball team’s season came to an end on Friday in the second day of the NJCAA West District Tournament.

Sophomore Caleb Herd (Cienega HS) hit a two-run home run in the 6th inning to put the Aztecs ahead but Pima fell in the end 7-5 to the College of Southern Nevada in the opening game of the NJCAA West District Tournament.- Herd went 1 for 3 with two RBIs and a run scored. The Pima Community College baseball team (45-17) opened play at the NJCAA West District Tournament against the College of Southern Nevada (49-10) on Thursday at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix.

Freshman Maclain Roberts threw five innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits with six strikeouts and two walks on 91 pitches but took the loss as No. 2 seeded Aztecs baseball fell to No. 4 South Mountain Community College 11-1 in the deciding Game 3 of the Region I, Division I Finals. The Pima Community College baseball team (45-16) struggled on offense in Game 3 of the Region I, Division I Finals on Saturday.

Sophomore Brant Kragel hit a home run and finished 2 for 3 with three RBIs and a run scored while sophomore J.T. Drake threw seven innings, giving up two runs (two earned) on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks as No. 2 seeded Aztecs baseball tied the series with an 8-2 win over No. 4 South Mountain Community College. The Pima Community College baseball team (45-15) got back on track on Friday in Game 2 of the Region I, Division I Finals.

The No. 2seeded Aztecs baseball team dropped Game 1 of the Region I, Division I Finals 3-1 to No. 4 South Mountain Community College. Sophomore Diego Alvarez (Sahuarita HS) pitched seven and one-third innings, giving up two runs (two earned) on five hits with 12 strikeouts and two walks as he suffered his first loss of the season (8-1). Sophomore nick Arias (Tucson Magnet HSD) had two of Pima's three hits on the day as he homered in the 8th inning and went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run. The Pima Community College baseball team (44-15) opened the Region I, Division I Finals on Thursday at the West Campus Aztec Field against South Mountain Community College (35-24).

Sophomore RHP J.T. Drake threw a complete-game shutout, giving up three hits with 11 strikeouts and no walks as the No. 2 seeded Aztecs Baseball advanced to the Region I, division I Finals after sweeping No. 3 Arizona Western College with a 4-0 win in Game 2. The Pima Community College baseball team (44-14) is heading back to the Region I, Division I Championship round for a second consecutive season.

The Pima Community College baseball team (43-14) was forced to rally in the first game of the Region I, Division I Semifinals on Thursday against Arizona Western College (37-16) at the West Campus Aztec Field.

The Pima Community College baseball team was represented in the All-ACCAC conference and All-Region I, Division I teams as seven players came away with accolades.

Sophomore Nick Arias went 4 for 8 with three RBIs and three runs scored on the day while fellow sophomore Cazares hit the go-ahead hit in the first game and went 2 for 5 with two RBIs and two runs on the day as No. 10 Pima Baseball closed out the regular season with a split at South Mountain Community College; winning 10-7 and falling 7-5. The Pima Community College baseball team (42-14, 26-12 in ACCAC) closed out the regular season on Saturday at South Mountain Community College (32-23, 22-16).

Ken Jacome was named the new Pima Community College Athletic Director. He will also remain as the head baseball coach. The Pima Community College Athletics department has a new leader. Ken Jacome, the Pima baseball head coach for the last six years, accepted the Athletic Director’s position. Jacome is 214-90 in six seasons. He picked up his 200th win on March 19 at Glendale Community College. He will remain the program’s head coach.

The Pima Community College baseball team (41-13, 24-11 in ACCAC) hosted its final regular season home doubleheader on Tuesday against Arizona Western College (36-14, 23-13) at the West Campus Aztec Field.

Sophomore Nick Arias (Tucson Magnet HS) finished 3 for 7 with an RBI, three runs scored and a home run while Garett Hicks threw five and one-third innings of shutout ball in relief to get the win as the No. 16 ranked Aztecs baseball team swept Cochise College 11-2 and 8-4.
