Aztecs football accepts bid to C.H.A.M.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl vs. Kilgore College on Dec. 1
The Pima Community College football team is going bowling for the second time in program history.
- The No. 20 ranked Aztecs will head to the C.H.A.M.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 1 to play No. 4 Kilgore College (9-2) at the Waco ISD Stadium in Waco, TX.
- The Aztecs, then referred to as the Pima Storm, beat Kilgore College 10-7 in the Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic on Dec. 4, 2004 in Mt. Pleasant, TX.
- "We are incredibly excited and blessed to be invited to the C.H.A.M.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl and really excited to play Kilgore again. We're not excited they're the No. 4 team in the country," Pima coach Jim Monaco said.
The Aztecs closed out the regular season at 6-3 overall and 4-2 in WSFL conference play. After dropping their first game of the season, the Aztecs rallied off six straight wins. They closed it out with two straight losses.
