Aztecs men's basketball take No. 3 seed, fall against Scottsdale

The Pima Community College men's basketball team (18-12, 10-12 in ACCAC) dropped its final regular season game against Scottsdale Community College 79-78 on Tuesday at the West Campus.

Down 79-76 with 9.6 seconds remaining, Bryan Cervantes (Nogales HS) missed a three-pointer and Matt O'Boyle collected the offensive rebound and scored with 0.2 seconds left as time ran out on the Aztecs.

Murphy Gershman finished with his 19th double-double of the season as he had 31 points and 11 rebounds. O'Boyle finished with 22 points on 6 for 10 three-point shooting. Esteban Lopez (Cholla HS) contributed with 12 points.

Sophomores Gershman, O'Boyle, Cervantes, Lopez and Andres Marquez were recognized at halftime.

The Aztecs will be in the Region I, Division II Tournament but their opponent is TBA at this time.
