Biggs drains six 3-pointers as men's basketball stymies No. 20 South Mountain

The Pima Community College men's basketball team (8-1, 4-1 in ACCAC) went right at South Mountain Community College on Saturday and handed them their first conference loss of the season.

The No. 10 ranked Aztecs defeated the No. 20 ranked Cougars (9-2, 4-1) 112-80 at the West Campus Gymnasium.

The Aztecs took a 54-32 halftime lead and were up by as much as 43 points in the second half.

Sophomore Keven Biggs (Cienega HS) finished with a game-high 26 points on 6 for 13 shooting from three-point range. Fellow sophomore Isaiah Murphy (Cienega HS) went 6 for 10 from the field and had 19 points.

Freshman Abram Carrasco (Cholla HS) scored 15 points off the bench while freshman Robert Wilson (Salpointe Catholic HS) posted 14 points and eight rebounds. Wilson was 6 for 7 from the field. Freshman Jeremiah Bailey had seven points and 13 rebounds.

The Aztecs will return to the West Campus next Saturday, Dec. 16 when they host a non-conference game against West Wing Prep at 2:00 p.m.
