Travis drops 33 points as Aztecs men's basketball earned 20th win

The Pima Community College men's basketball team picked up its 20th win of the season on Wednesday (20-2, 12-2 in ACCAC) at Glendale Community College (6-15, 1-13).

The No. 6 ranked Aztecs defeated the Gauchos 91-82 after outscoring them 40-30 in the second half. The Aztecs trailed 52-51 at halftime.

This is the third time in five seasons under head coach Brian Peabody that the Aztecs have won or surpassed 20 wins in a season.

Sophomore Alize Travis led the way with a team-high 33 points to go along with six assists, four rebounds and four steals. Fellow sophomore Keven Biggs (Cienega HS) finished with 13 points and nine rebounds while freshman Abram Carrasco (Cholla HS) posted 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

The Aztecs earned the regular season sweep over the Gauchos. Pima won the first meeting in December 113-91 at the West Campus Gym.

The Aztecs return to the West Campus Gym on Saturday when they host Eastern Arizona College at 4:00 p.m.
