Aztecs men's basketball throttles Chandler-Gilbert CC for 10th straight win
The Pima Community College men's basketball team (14-3, 7-2 in ACCAC) took over first place in the ACCAC Division II standings on Saturday after its win at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (12-5, 6-3).
- The No. 11 ranked Aztecs defeated the Coyotes 103-71 to win their 10th straight game. The Aztecs outscored Chandler-Gilbert 58-37 in the second half after leading 45-34 at halftime.
- Sophomore Robert Wilson (Salpointe Catholic HS) went 6 for 7 from three-point range and finished with a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Rashad Smith (Hamilton HS) fell short of a triple double as he posted 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. He also went 5 for 7 from the three-point line.
- Freshman Jordan Robinson (Tucson HS) finished with 11 points, six assists and three steals while sophomore Kennedy Koehler had 10 points and three blocks.
The Aztecs face a tough test on Wednesday when they play at Phoenix College. Tipoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
