Former Aztecs men's basketball players Carrasco and Bessard named NAIA All-Americans

Former Pima Community College men's basketball players Abram Carrasco (Cholla HS) and Justin Bessard earned recognition from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

  • Carrasco and Bessard played for the Westmont College Warriors (CA) this season and were selected NAIA All-Americans.
  • Carrasco, a junior, was named first team All-American as he led the Warriors averaging 18.9 points and 4.8 assists. This is the second straight year he has been named a first team All-American. Carrasco holds the record for most points scored in a Pima men's basketball career with 1,310 points.
  • Bessard, a senior, was selected NAIA Honorable Mention All-American. He averaged 15.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
  • Carrasco and Bessard were part of the 2018 Aztecs team that finished runner-up at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
