Aztecs Men's Basketball drops ACCAC opener to Arizona Western College

The Pima Community College men's basketball team (5-1, 0-1 in ACCAC) opened ACCAC conference play on Wednesday at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.

  • The No. 10 ranked Aztecs fell to Arizona Western College 79-78. The Aztecs had averaged 124 points in their first five games.
  • Sophomore Daniel Moody (Walden Grove HS) posted a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds.
  • Freshman Pierce Sterling finished the game with 14 points, five rebounds and five assists while freshman Traivar Jackson added 12 points.
  • Freshman Itury Kitt (Eastpointe HS) contributed with 10 points, six assists and five rebounds. Sophomore Chrishon Dixon fell short of a double-double with nine points and 10 assists.

The Aztecs are back at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Saturday when they host Central Arizona College. Tipoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
