Dixon and Jackson combine for 49 points but Aztecs men's basketball falls at South Mountain CC

The Pima Community College men's basketball team (16-9, 8-8 in ACCAC) had its four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday at South Mountain Community College (11-13, 5-9).

  • The Aztecs fell to the Cougars 91-85 as Pima played their first game on the road since Jan. 22.
  • The Aztecs led 48-47 at halftime but were outscored 44-37 in the second half.
  • Sophomore Chrishon Dixon finished with a team-high 26 points while freshman Traivar Jackson posted 23 points. Freshman Pierce Sterling added nine points.
  • The Aztecs will be back at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Wednesday when they host Mesa Community College. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
