Jackson and Baker combine for 49 points as Pima Men's Basketball scores 157 in win

The Pima Community College men's basketball team (3-0) scored its highest point total of the young season on Saturday against ABC Prep.

  • The Aztecs won 157-79 after taking a 71-38 lead at halftime and scoring 86 points in the second half.
  • Sophomore Traivar Jackson and freshman Dillan Baker (Salpointe Catholic HS) combined to score 49 points. Jackson finished with a team-high 25 points along with five rebounds and three blocks while Baker added 24 points.
  • Sophomore Cesar Saenz (Sabino HS) closed it out with 12 points, seven assists and seven steals while freshman Khamani Steckler had 14 points and four rebounds.
  • Freshmen Jaylen Alexander and Niiko Pentelute (Gilbert HS) each fell short of double-doubles as Alexander finished with nine points and 11 rebounds and Pentelute contributed with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Aztecs are back at the West Campus Aztec Gym on Thursday when they host Arizona Christian University JV. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
