Aztecs men's golf close out season at NJCAA Championship

The Pima Community College men's golf team closed out the final round of the NJCAA Division I Championship on Friday at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Couse in Garden City, KS.

The Aztecs took 20th place out of 21 teams in the final team standings with a four-day total of 1291 (312-328-335-316).

Sophomore Nick St. Clair (Higley HS) produced the best score for the Aztecs with a 317 (81-79-79-78). He tied for 68th place in the individual standings.

Sophomore Jonah Daniels (Chaparral HS) shot a three-over par 75 in his final round and finished with a 325 (73-89-88-75).

Freshman Cooper Cordova (Mountain View HS) shot a 330 (75-86-85-84) for the tournament while freshman Colton Gage (Cienega HS) also finished with a 330 (85-77-88-80). Freshman Johnny Fiore (Marana HS) had 335 (83-86-83-83).

The Aztecs earned their third straight Region I, Division I Championship as Gage, St. Clair and Daniels all earned All-Region. They had four sophomores and five freshmen on this year's team.
