Salisbury shoots under-par in second round of the NJCAA Division I Championship

The Pima Community College men's golf team closed out the second round of the NJCAA Division I National Championship on Wednesday at the Duran Golf Club.

  • The Aztecs currently sit in 17th place out of 24 teams and have a two-day score of 600 (296-304).
  • Freshman Samuel Salisbury (Walden Grove HS) shot a 2-under par 70 on the day as he improved by four-strokes from the first round. He is tied for 25th place with a 144 (74-70).
  • Freshman Matthew Fimbres (Cienega HS) shot a 4-over par 76 for the second straight day as he has a two-day total of 152 (76-76).
  • Freshman Cody Goza (Blue Ridge HS) struggled a bit in his second round as he shot an 81. He has a total of 153 (72-81).
  • Sophomore Diego Cueva-Schraidt (Sabino HS) has a score of 158 (74-84) while freshman Curtis Goldin (McClintock HS) improved by 7-strokes and sits with a 161 (84-77).

The Aztecs will play in the third round on Thursday at the Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, FL.
