Aztecs men's golf finishes in 18th place at NJCAA Division I Championship

The Pima Community College men's golf team closed out the 2019 season at the Duran Golf Club on Friday in the final round of the NJCAA Division I National Championship.

  • The Aztecs shot a 306 on the day and finish in 18th place out of 24 teams with a four-day total of 1215 (296-304-309-306).
  • Freshman Samuel Salisbury (Walden Grove HS) had the best all-around total as he finished tied for 41st place with a 294 (74-70-74-76).
  • Freshman Cody Goza (Blue Ridge HS) closed out the tournament with a 309 (72-81-78-78).
  • Sophomore Diego Cueva-Schraidt (Sabino HS) shot a 3-over par 75 in Friday's final round and finished with a 310 (74-84-77-75).
  • Freshman Matthew Fimbres (Cienega HS) finished with a 313 (76-76-80-81) while freshman Curtis Goldin (McClintock HS) had a 320 (84-77-82-77).

The Aztecs claimed the NJCAA Region I, Division I title for the fourth time in five years.
