Caysen Wright and Aztecs Men's Golf sit in second place after second round at the Region I Championships

The Pima Community College men's golf team is competing at the Region I, Division I Championships at the Ocotillo Golf Club in Chandler, AZ.

  • The Aztecs sit in second place with a two-round score of 598 (299-299). They trail Eastern Arizona College by 18-strokes in the team standings as the Gila Monsters have a score of 580 (289-291). Estrella Mountain Community College is in third place and trails Pima by 6-strokes (301-303-604).
  • Freshman Caysen Wright is in second place in the individual tournament with a two-day score of 143. He shot a 2-under par 69 in Tuesday's round and a 74 in the first round. He is 3-strokes behind the leader Dhayanij Lemkanitchat (69-71-140).
  • Freshman Gabe Herbst is in fourth place and is 6-strokes behind the leader with a 146. He shot a 1-over par 72 on Tuesday and a 74 in the first round of play.
  • Freshman Colton Boone sits tied for 10th place with a 151 (74-77) and sophomore Luis Lopez (Sahuarita HS) is in 14th place with a 158 (77-81).

The Aztecs continue play at the Ocotillo Golf Club on Wednesday and Thursday.
