Aztec Men's Soccer Earn Shutout, Upend Scottsdale CC

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (4-1, 4-1 in ACCAC) bounced back on the road on Tuesday at Scottsdale Community College (1-2-1, 1-2-1).

The No. 9 ranked Aztecs shut out the Artichokes 2-0 to get one back in the win column. They lost at Yavapai College on Saturday in Prescott.

Sophomore Hector Banegas (Rincon HS) put the Aztecs on a board with a goal in the first half. Freshman Tatsuma Yuki had the assist as the Aztecs took a 1-0 advantage at halftime.

Sophomore Carlo Valadez-Paz (Westview HS) added an insurance goal in the second half with an assist from freshman Gavino Carranza (Salpointe Catholic HS).

Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Anderson (Salpointe Catholic HS) finished the game with four saves.

The Aztecs will be back at the Kino North Grandstand on Thursday when they host GateWay Community College at 4:30 p.m.
