Kametani nets two goals as Aztecs men's soccer trounce Chandler-Gilbert

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (13-1-3) earned its sixth shutout victory of the season on Tuesday after beating Chandler-Gilbert Community College (9-7).

The No. 7 ranked Aztecs continue to roll as they beat the Coyotes 5-0. The Aztecs swept the regular season meetings with the Coyotes, winning 4-2 last month in Chandler. The Aztecs are now 11-0-2 in their last 13 games.

Freshman Hugo Kametani scored two goals for the Aztecs. He put them on the board in the 29th minute and scored Pima's final insurance goal in the 58th minute with an assist from sophomore AJ Valenzuela (Desert View HS).

Valenzuela, along with sophomore Julian Gaona (Tucson HS) and freshman Jose Irra (Barry Goldwater HS) produced the other Pima goals. Sophomore Chris Cooper (University HS) and freshman Kevin Perez each had an assist.

The Aztecs outshot the Coyotes 13-2 for the game while freshman David Silva finished with two saves.

The Aztecs close out their home regular season schedule on Thursday at Kino North Stadium against Glendale Community College at 7:00 p.m.
