Aztecs men's soccer gets shut out in West District finals against Yavapai College

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (17-4-3) couldn't find the answer to Yavapai College once again on Saturday in the NJCAA West District finals.

The No. 8 ranked Aztecs were shut out 2-0 by the No. 5 Roughriders. The Aztecs are 0-2-2 against Yavapai this season.

Jose Perez Flores scored the goals for the Roughriders in the 36th and 50th minutes. Yavapai created more shot opportunities as they finished with 15 in the second half alone. The Aztecs finished with 18 shots for the game while Yavapai had 21.

Freshman goalkeeper David Silva finished the game with nine saves.

The Aztecs will play in the NJCAA Division I Tournament on Nov. 13-18 in Prescott. Check pimaaztecs.com for schedule updates.
