Kametani and Ishihara spark offense as Aztecs men's soccer suffocates South Mountain

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (14-2) earned another shutout victory on Tuesday at Kino North Stadium.

  • The No. 4 ranked Aztecs posted their third straight shutout after beating South Mountain Community College (2-13) 5-0. The Aztecs have blanked their opponents in four of the last five games and have won six straight.
  • Sophomore Hugo Kametani scored a hat trick in the first half as the Aztecs led 4-0 at the break.
  • Freshman Itsuki Ishihara scored two goals for the game. Freshmen Ricky Gordillo (Maya HS) and Alec Nguyen (Sahuaro HS) each had two assists.
  • The Aztecs outshot the Cougars 17-3 for the game. Freshman Nils Roth had two saves while sophomore David Silva finished with one save.

The Aztecs return to Kino North Stadium on Saturday to host Mesa Community College. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
