Aztecs men's soccer suffers rare defeat at Kino, falls to Phoenix College

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (3-1-1) were shut out on Thursday at Kino North Stadium.

  • The No. 2 ranked Aztecs fell to Phoenix College 1-0 suffering their first loss at Kino Sports Complex since Oct. 28, 2017 (684 days) when they lost to Yavapai College in the Region I, Division I Championship. It was the first regular season loss for the Aztecs at home since Oct. 4, 2016 (1,073 days) when they lost to Yavapai.
  • The Aztecs finished the game with four shots on goal and sophomore goalkeeper Nils Roth had two saves for the game.
  • Luis Gandara scored the goal for the Bears (4-1) in the 66th minute.

The Aztecs will hit the road for the next five games beginning on Saturday when they play at Glendale Community College. Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m.
