Aztecs Men's Tennis Gets Swept at Mesa CC

The Pima Community College men's tennis team (1-2, 0-1 in ACCAC) opened ACCAC conference play on Tuesday at Mesa Community College. The Aztecs lost 9-0.

In singles competition, freshman Curtis Jeffery won two sets points but lost at No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-0. Freshman Marc Avalos (Sunnyside HS) dropped his match at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0 while freshman Jesus Lopez (Canyon del Oro HS) fell 6-1, 6-0 in his No. 4 singles match.

Freshmen Dalton Reisig (Catalina Foothills HS), Raj Singh Kaila (Yuma Union HS) and sophomore Landon Trejo (St. David HS) each lost at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles respectively 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles competition, Singh Kaila and Lopez fell at No. 2 doubles 8-1. Avalos and Reisig lost 8-0 at No. 1 doubles and Trejo and Jeffery fell 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.

The Aztecs will be back at the Tucson Racquet Club on Tuesday, Mar. 22 when they host Glendale Community College in an ACCAC conference match. The match begins at 1:30 p.m.
