2016 Softball Action Photos

The 2016 softball team finished the season with an overall record of 47-19-1 and a 33-14-1 record in the ACCAC conference. This was the seven time the Aztecs have won 45-plus games in nine years. The Aztecs took second place at the NJCAA Region I, Division II Tournament after head coach Armando Quiroz, who finished his ninth season with the program. Freshman outfielder Courtney Brown was named first team NJCAA Division II All-American. She was also selected NFCA first team All-Region for the South Region, first team All-ACCAC and to the All-Region I, Division II team. Freshman catcher Margarita Corona was named first team NFCA All-Region, second team All-ACCAC and All-Region I, Division II. Sophomore pitcher Odalis Orduno was second team All-ACCAC and All-Region I, Division II. Sophomore outfielder Araceli Peralta was named third team All-ACCAC. Quiroz also won his 400th game as head coach at Pima during the season.
