Talamante named ACCAC Player of the Week

Pima Community College softball player Alyse Talamante had a great week for the Aztecs and was rewarded by the ACCAC conference.

Talamante, a sophomore catcher, was named ACCAC Division I Player of the Week on Monday for the week of Feb. 19-25. She helped the Aztecs go 3-1 with a split against Eastern Arizona College and a sweep at Scottsdale Community College.

Talamante went 7 for 12 (.583 avg.) at the plate with two homeruns, 11 RBIs, five runs scored and two doubles.

She is batting .400 on the season with three homers, 17 RBIs, 11 runs scored and 11 walks in 18 games played.

The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Softball Field on Tuesday when they host an ACCAC conference doubleheader against Chandler-Gilbert Community College. First pitch is at 1:00 p.m.
