Caldera takes home ACCAC Player of the Week honors

Pima Community College softball player Maria Vanezza Caldera (Tucson HS) earned ACCAC Division I Player of the Week recognition on Monday for the week of Mar. 26-Apr. 1.

Caldera, a freshman outfielder, went 7 for 9 (.778) with five runs scored and three RBIs as the Aztecs went 2-2 last week. She also had three doubles and a walk.

She is batting .582 on the season (32 for 55) with 26 RBIs, 10 doubles and 10 walks.

The Aztecs return to the West Campus Softball Field on Tuesday when they host Central Arizona College in an ACCAC conference doubleheader. The first game will be at 1:00 p.m.
