Casper goes 4-0 in starts to earn ACCAC Pitcher of the Week

Pima Community College softball pitcher Alese Casper produced three quality starts and was recognized by the ACCAC conference on Monday.

Casper, a freshman pitcher, was selected ACCAC Division I Pitcher of the Week. She went 4-0 in her starts as the Aztecs swept Scottsdale Community College and Chandler-Gilbert Community College for the week of Apr. 9-15.

Casper threw 22.2 innings giving up five earned runs with 16 strikeouts and just four walks. She pitched a one-hit shutout in the first game against the Coyotes and gave up just one run in nine innings pitched against the Artichokes.

She has pitched 133.2 innings with a 13-8 record and a 4.92 ERA so far this season.

The Aztecs will hit the road on Tuesday to play at No. 7 ranked Phoenix College. The first game of the doubleheader begins at 1:00 p.m.
