Bruno and Watkins highlight day for Aztecs at Cody McBride Invitational

The Pima Community College men's and women's track & field team competed at the Cody McBride Invitational at Paradise Valley Community College.

Freshman Katherine Bruno (Canyon del Oro HS) set a personal record and a national qualifying time in the 1,500 meter race. She took third place with a time of 4 minutes, 59.74 seconds.

Sophomore Alyssa Watkins (Camp Verde HS) improved on her national qualifying mark in the hammer throw. She took second place with a mark of 157-feet, 9-inches (48.09 meters). Her national qualifier was set last week at 148-2 (45.17 meters).

The Aztecs will compete in the ACCAC Conference meet on Saturday, Mar. 31 at Paradise Valley Community College. Events begin at 10:00 a.m.
