Thrower Watkins signs to New Mexico State University

Pima Community College track & field athlete Alyssa Watkins (Camp Verde HS) signefd her national letter of intent to continue her education and collegiate career at the next level.

Watkins, a sophomore thrower, signed to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. She will compete in the WAC conference.

Watkins earned All-Region honors in the hammer throw and the javelin at the NJCAA Region I Championships on Tuesday. She will compete on Thursday in the final day. Watkins also earned All-ACCAC status in the discus, hammer throw and shot put.
