Pima Community College women's basketball player Christine Ortega (Flowing Wells HS) signed her national letter of intent on Thursday to continue her education and collegiate career at the NCAA Division II level.

Ortega, a sophomore forward, signed to play at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, TX.

She was selected second team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II. Ortega averaged 11.6 points, 7.5 rebounds in 31 games; making 28 starts for the Aztecs. She also earned ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 8-14 in which she scored a season-high of 29 points in a win over Central Arizona College. As a freshman, Ortega averaged 3.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 30 games played.
