Pima Community College women's basketball coach Todd Holthaus is going to be enshrined where his coaching career took off.

Holthaus will be inducted into the Flowing Wells High School Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 14. He coached the girls basketball team from 1998-2005 where he compiled a record of 160-64 and his teams averaged 24 wins per season. Holthaus' teams made it to the state tournament for seven straight years as the program transitioned from Class 4A to 5A. He was named the Class 5A Coach of the Year for four straight years (2002-2005).

"I'm honored beyond words to be selected for Flowing Wells' Hall of Fame. Flowing Wells was where my coaching career started and became my family," Holthaus said. "My wife and I taught there and my kids went to school in the district. I worked alongside other great coaches and I had the privilege of coaching great kids in numerous sports.

"The girls basketball program at Flowing Wells has always had a great tradition and I'm just proud to have upheld it during my tenure there."

Holthaus earned his 400th career coaching victory on Feb. 10.

Holthaus also coached the junior varsity girls volleyball team, freshman football, freshman baseball, track & field and was an assistant for boys volleyball.

He also taught in the district for 10 years from 1997-2005 and 2008-2010. Holthaus was an elementary and high school PE teacher. He was also an instructor for Drivers Ed and Health.

Holthaus is the third Pima coach to be inducted into the Flowing Wells Sports Hall of Fame. Former softball coach Armando Quiroz was inducted in 2014 after he coached the Caballeros from 1999-2004. Pima softball head coach Rebekah Quiroz was inducted in 2016 after she won state titles in 1999 and 2000.
