Esquivel earns NJCAA All-American status to close NJCAA Nationals

The Pima Community College women's golf season came to a close on Thursday in the final round of the NJCAA National Championship in Mesa.

Sophomore Araceli Esquivel (Salpointe Catholic HS) took home NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention honors as she finished tied for 17th place. She struggled a bit in the final round but maintained her spot in the individual standings. She shot a 318 (86-76-76-80) for the tournament.

This is the third straight year the women's golf program has produced an NJCAA All-American. Desiree Hong earned All-American status in 2016 and 2017 for the Aztecs.

Freshman Elizabeth Satterfield (Ironwood Ridge HS) had her best round of the tournament on Thursday as she finished with a total of 411 (102-103-105-101).
