Hernandez nets game-winner in second OT as Aztecs women's soccer tops Cochise College

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (2-2, 2-2 in ACCAC) completed a comeback in dramatic fashion on Friday at Kino North Stadium.

The No. 20 ranked Aztecs found themselves trailing early but picked up a 2-1 win in the second overtime over Cochise College (1-3, 0-2).

Sophomore Alexis Hernandez (Ironwood Ridge HS) scored the game-winner in front of the Apaches' goal in the 105th minute. The goal was set-up by sophomore Bailey Pedersen's (Mountain View HS) corner kick.

The Apaches struck first with a goal in the 3rd minute. Hernandez tied the game in the 33rd minute as fellow sophomore Emily Gallagher (Sahuaro HS) had the assist.

The Aztecs outshot the Apaches 16-5 for the game. Freshman goalkeeper McKenzie Bernal (Tanque Verde HS) finished the game with three saves.

The Aztecs will be back at Kino Sports Complex on Tuesday against Scottsdale Community College at 4:30 p.m.
