The Pima Community College women's soccer team (10-4-1) secured another double-digit win season on Thursday as the Aztecs won a tough road game at Scottsdale Community College.

Freshman Aspen Kinzie (Mountain View HS) scored two goals in Pima's 3-1 win over the Artichokes (8-4-2). The Aztecs swept the regular season meetings with the Artichokes. Pima won 1-0 last month at Kino North Stadium. Under head coach Kendra Veliz, the Aztecs have had double digit win seasons in 14 of her 16 years.

Kinzie put the Aztecs on the board with a goal in the 11th minute with an assist from sophomore Emily Gallagher (Sahuaro HS). Kinzie helped seal the win with another goal in the 72nd minute that was assisted by sophomore Alexis Hernandez (Ironwood Ridge HS).

The Artichokes tied the game at 1-1 in the first half with a goal in the 24th minute. The Aztecs responded late in the half when freshman Paola Ruedaflores (Nogales HS) put Pima back ahead with a goal in the 35th minute. Sophomore Taylor Bigelow (Salpointe Catholic HS) had the assist.

Sophomore Tara Kase (Buena HS) worked hard in front of the net as she finished with nine saves. The Artichokes outshot the Aztecs 10-9 for the game.

The Aztecs will return to Kino North Stadium on Saturday when they host GateWay Community College at 4:30 p.m.
