The Pima Community College women's soccer team (0-1, 0-1 in ACCAC) could not find an answer to Arizona Western College's offense in its season opener on Thursday in Yuma.
- The Aztecs fell 5-1 to the No. 15 ranked Matadors as they trailed 5-0 after the first half.
- Freshman Gabriela Molina (Cienega HS) put the Aztecs on the board with her goal in the 72nd minute. It was assisted by freshman Maya Ahumada (Tucson HS).
- The Aztecs outshot the Matadors 7-6 and sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Bernal (Tanque Verde HS) finished with one save.
The Aztecs look to rebound in their home opener on Saturday against Chandler-Gilbert Community College at Kino North Stadium. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
