Tapia puts Aztecs women's soccer ahead but finish in a tie with No. 7 Phoenix College

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (4-3-2) held on to a lead for most of its game against No. 7 Phoenix College but were unable to close them out. 

  • The Aztecs finished in a 1-1 with the Bears (7-1-1).
  • Freshman Alexis Tapia (Sahuaro HS) put the Aztecs on the board in the 36th minute with a free kick goal.
  • The Aztecs surrendered the game-tying goal with 12:06 left in regulation (78th minute).
  • Freshman Haven Chambers (Walden Grove HS) made a jumping save in the first overtime to keep the game tied. She finished with three saves.

The Aztecs will head to Douglas on Thursday to play at Cochise College. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
