Paul has nine saves but Aztecs women's soccer gets blanked by Paradise Valley in ACCAC opener

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (0-2, 0-1 in ACCAC) struggled to gain chances on offense on Thursday at Kino North Stadium.

  • The Aztecs were shut out by Paradise Valley Community College 1-0 in their ACCAC conference opener.
  • The Pumas (1-2, 1-0) put the pressure on early as sophomore goalkeeper Jorie Paul (Cienega HS) was forced to make three saves in the first 21 minutes of play. Riley Dinnigan scored the goal for the Pumas in the 35th minute.
  • The Aztecs had a free kick chance just outside the penalty area with 1:20 left in the game but could not capitalize with a shot on goal.
  • The Aztecs finished the game with three shots on goal and Paul had nine saves for the game.

The Aztecs continue the home stand on Thursday, Sept. 5 when they host GateWay Community College at Kino North Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
