Marks scores golden goal in overtime as Aztecs women's soccer tops Paradise Valley CC

The Pima Community College women's soccer team (4-3, 1-0 in ACCAC) opened ACCAC conference play on Thursday with a big road victory.

  • The Aztecs rallied to force overtime and went on to beat Paradise Valley Community College 2-1 in overtime. Sophomore Reilly Marks (Salpointe Catholic HS) scored the game-winner in the 95th minute with an assist from freshman Savannah Samorano (Tucson HS)
  • Marks also had a hand in the game-tying goal. Sophomore Taylor Gutierrez (Tucson HS) tied the game at 1-1 in the 54th minute with an assist by Marks.
  • The Pumas (5-3-1, 0-1) got on the board first in the 4th minute.
  • Sophomore Jorie Paul (Cienega HS) finished the game with four saves.
  • The Aztecs avenged their loss against the Pumas from earlier this season. Pima fell 1-0 on Aug. 29.

The Aztecs will hit the road again next Thursday as they play GateWay Community College at Copper Sky Park in Maricopa. Kickoff will be at 4:30 p.m.
