Aztecs Sprinter/Jumper Masaada Johnson signs to Idaho State University

Pima Community College women's track & field standout Masaada Johnson (Wickenburg HS) signed her letter of intent to continue her collegiate journey at the NCAA Division I level.

  • Johnson, a freshman sprinter/jumper signed to compete at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. The Bengals compete in the Big Sky Conference.
  • Johnson earned All-Region recognition in the Triple Jump (fourth place), Long Jump (fifth place) and High Jump (fifth place) at the NJCAA Region I Championships. She was also part of the 4x100 meter relay team that took second place.
  • She earned All-ACCAC status in the Triple Jump, Long Jump, High Jump and the 100 meter race.

Johnson joins a list of Aztecs, who've competed at Idaho State University including Tyler Valenzuela (Pole Vaulter), Tony Chavez (Pole Vaulter), Seth Jarus (Jumper), Treyshon Malone (Jumper), Hannah Bartz (Jumper/Sprinter) and McKenna McGrath (Jumper/Sprinter). The Aztecs have sent 13 total track & field student-athletes to compete for Idaho State University.
