Jackie Trice sets three new personal-bests at NAU Tune-Up

The Pima Community College women's track & field team closed out its final meet of the Indoor regular season on Friday at the NAU Tune-Up Meet in Flagstaff.

  • Freshman Jackie Trice (Williams Field HS) competed in six events total and improved her Pentathlon score in five events. She now sits ninth in the country and fifth in Pima Indoor school history. Trice finished fourth in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.19 meters (17-0.5). She placed sixth in the High Jump at 1.51 meters (4-11.5) and 13th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:52.75. All her finishes in these events were personal-bests.
  • Freshman Oksana Giron (Sunnyside HS) set a lifetime personal-record in the 800-race with a time of 3:05.73.
  • Sophomore Dejanae Wilmore (Tucson Magnet HS) is now ranked No. 6 in school history after she finished the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.94.
  • Freshman Alana Jones (St. David HS) took ninth place in the Shot Put with a mark of 10.72 meters (35-feet, 2-inches). She is now ranked No. 10 in Pima Indoor school history.
  • The Aztecs will compete in the NJCAA Indoor National Championships on Mar. 4-5 at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, KS.
