Aztecs Volleyball Fall in Four Sets at Arizona Western College

The Pima Community College volleyball team (14-13, 4-8 in ACCAC) dropped its fourth straight match on Wednesday at Arizona Western College.

The Aztecs won the third set but the rally was cut short as they lost in four games 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 25-11.

The Aztecs cut into Arizona Western leads in the first and second sets but couldn't overtake them. Pima played a close third set with Arizona Western and were able to hold on to the lead in the end to cut the match deficit to 2-1. Arizona Western scored nine of the last 12 points to win the fourth set and the match.  

Sophomore Miranda Bingham (Thatcher HS) finished the match with 25 assists, two aces and 10 digs. Sophomore Mariah Rodriguez (Tucson Magnet HS) had seven kills while freshman Kristin Baldwin (Thatcher HS) contributed with three kills and five blocks. Sophomore Angel Chavez (Mingus Union HS) had 14 digs.

The Aztecs will be back at the West Campus on Friday when they host Yavapai College at 7:00 p.m.
