Davis Posts 18 Kills to Lead Volleyball Passed Phoenix College in Five Sets

The Pima Community College volleyball team (2-4, 1-1 in ACCAC) found themselves in a back-and-forth match-up with Phoenix College (0-3, 0-3) on Wednesday but the Aztecs came away with the victory on the road.

The Aztecs won the fifth set tie-breaker to defeat the Bears 27-25, 14-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-10 picking up their first ACCAC conference win of the season.

Sophomore Victoria Davis (Sahuaro HS) had 18 kills and 19 digs for the match while freshman Anissa Conrad (Sahuaro HS) posted 26 digs. Freshman Hannah Gerard (Canyon del Oro HS) finished with 35 assists and two aces and Kylee Ashment (Highland HS) had four kills and four blocks.

The Aztecs will play in their home opener on Friday against Glendale Community College at the West Campus gymnasium. The match begins at 7:00 p.m.
