Lomeli Posts 16 Kills as Volleyball Falls in Tie-Breaker at Chandler-Gilbert

The Pima Community College volleyball team (3-10, 1-4 in ACCAC) played a tough ACCAC conference match on the road at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (2-5, 2-2) but couldn't hold its advantage in the end.

The Aztecs took a 2-1 lead after winning the second and third sets but fell to the Coyotes in five sets 25-16, 19-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Sophomore Aubrey Lomeli (St. Mary's HS) finished the match with 16 kills and 12 digs while freshman Trae Johnson (Highland HS) had 12 kills and two blocks. Freshman Hannah Gerard (Canyon del Oro HS) posted 32 assists and 16 digs and fellow freshman Anissa Conrad (Sahuaro HS) contributed with 29 digs and one ace.

The Aztecs will be back at the West Campus Gymnasium on Friday when they host South Mountain Community College at 7:00 p.m.
