The Pima Community College volleyball team (0-4) dropped its final two matches to close out the New Mexico Military Institute Classic Tournament on Saturday.
Freshman Kaitlin Schmich (Mountain View HS) finished the day with 24 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore Victoria Davis (Sahuaro HS) had 18 kills and 28 digs.
The Aztecs fell to Hutchinson Community College in straight sets (25-12, 25-22, 25-20). Schmich had 12 kills and seven digs while Davis finished with seven kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Anissa Conrad (Sahuaro HS) posted 16 digs and one ace.
They also fell in three sets to host New Mexico Military Institute (25-23, 25-22, 25-15). Schmich had 12 kills and six digs and Davis had 11 kills and 18 digs. Sophomore Kayli Riesgo (Cienega HS) finished with 31 assists, 12 digs and two aces.
Davis was named to the NMMI Classic All-Tournament team.
The Aztecs begin ACCAC conference play on Wednesday at Glendale Community College at 7:00 p.m.
