Aztecs volleyball can't hold advantage in tie-breaking loss at South Mountain

The Pima Community College volleyball team (4-8, 2-2 in ACCAC) couldn't close out its match against South Mountain Community College (10-8, 3-1) on Friday in Phoenix.

The Aztecs took a 2-1 advantage but dropped the final two sets including the tie-breaker to the Cougars 21-25, 25-19, 14-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Freshman Kaitlin Schmich (Mountain View HS) finished the match with 20 kills and 11 digs while sophomore Victoria Davis (Sahuaro HS) posted 17 kills and 19 digs. Sophomore Anissa Conrad (Sahuaro HS) had 43 digs and two aces and fellow sophomore Kayli Riesgo (Cienega HS) finished with 60 assists, 17 digs and one ace.

The Aztecs will be back on the road on Wednesday when they play at Arizona Western College in Yuma. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
