Aztecs volleyball falls to No. 8 Scottsdale CC

The Pima Community College volleyball team (7-16, 4-9 in ACCAC) dropped its fifth straight match on Wednesday against Scottsdale Community College (16-5, 9-4).

The Aztecs fell in straight sets 25-11, 25-20, 25-19 to the No. 8 ranked Artichokes as Pima was swept in the regular season head-to-head meetings. The Aztecs fell in straight sets earlier this month at Scottsdale.

Freshman Kaitlin Schmich (Mountain View HS) led the Aztecs with her 12th double-double of the season with 14 assists and 13 digs. Sophomore Victoria Davis (Sahuaro HS) finished the match with nine kills and 12 digs while fellow sophomore Gianni Romero (Sahuaro HS) had 12 assists and nine digs. Sophomore Anissa Conrad (Sahuaro HS) had 11 digs and sophomore Kylee Ashment (Highland HS) had five kills and two blocks. Sophomores Jamie Ricksecker (Pusch Ridge Christian HS), and freshman Lyrica Tavesi (Pima HS) also each had two blocks.

The Aztecs play two home matches next week to close out the regular season. They'll host South Mountain Community College at the West Campus Gymnasium on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
