Aztecs baseball's Ochoa named ACCAC Player of the Week

Pima Community College baseball player Angel Ochoa (Canyon del Oro HS) had some big hits against previously ranked No. 13 Arizona Western College last week as he was rewarded for his efforts.

  • Ochoa, a sophomore infielder, was selected ACCAC Division I Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 10-16.
  • He went 3 for 8 (.375) with six RBIs and two runs scored in Pima's sweep over the Matadors. He hit a three-run RBI double and a two-run RBI single in the second game alone.
  • Ochoa is batting .325 with 12 RBIs, eight runs and seven walks in 40 at-bats so far this season.

The Aztecs are 13-2 on the season (2-2 in ACCAC) and will play at Mesa Community College on Saturday. First pitch is at noon.
