The Pima Community College Athletics department set new records with 11 of the 13 teams receiving NJCAA All-Academic recognition and a new school record of 74 student-athletes earning All-Academic distinction.

Ken Jacome Baseball in associating with the Pima Community College baseball program will host Summer Baseball Camps at the Pima West Campus Aztec Baseball Field. The information below is in regards to Little Aztecs Youth and High School Prospect Camps.

Sophomore outfielder and catcher Andrew Stucky (Canyon del Oro HS) was selected NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention. He is the first Pima baseball All-American since Phillip Sikes in 2019. Pima Community College baseball standout Andrew Stucky (Canyon del Oro HS) earned national attention for his play during the 2023 season on Monday as the NJCAA released its Baseball All-American teams.

Aztecs softball player Mia Casadei (Tanque Verde HS) and baseball pitcher Alessandro Castro were selected as the 2023 recipients of the Lawrence R. Toledo Leadership Award. The award is in honor of Pima's first Athletic Director  Larry Toledo, who was the head of the department for over 25 years. Casadei is heading to Ottawa University Arizona in Surprise, AZ and Castro will play at the University of Arizona. Photo by Raymond Suarez

Pima Community College Athletics selected its student-athletes for its annual Lawrence R. Toledo Leadership Award.

Aztecs Baseball's memorable season comes to a close at the West District Tournament

The Pima Community College baseball team’s 2023 season came to an end on Friday at the NJCAA West District Tournament as it dropped two games at Christensen Field in Beatrice, Nebraska.

Sophomore Andrew Stucky hit a walk-off home run in the 10th inning as the Aztecs baseball team defeated McCook Community College 9-8 in the first game of the NJCAA West District Tournament. Sophomore Matt Cornelius produced a quality start, going seven innings, giving up two runs (none earned) on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Photos by Stephanie van Latum

The Pima Community College baseball team (46-16) opened play in the NJCAA West District Tournament on Thursday at Southeast Community College’s Christensen Field as it produced a thrilling ending in extra innings.

The Aztecs baseball team will open the NJCAA West District Tournament on Thursday against McCook Community College (NE) at 3:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. Tucson time). The double elimination tournament will be from Thursday to Saturday at Christenson Field in Beatrice, NE. Photo by Raymond Suarez

The Pima Community College baseball team is heading to Beatrice, Nebraska to play in the NJCAA West District Tournament with a chance to advance to the NJCAA Division I World Series.

The Pima Baseball team captures its first NJCAA Region I, Division I Championship since 1998 after beating Arizona Western College 6-4 in the deciding Game 3 of the Championship Series. Freshman closer J.T. Drake was named the MVP of the series. The Aztecs will play in the NJCAA West District Tournament on May 18-20. Location and schedule are TBA. Photo by Raymond Suarez

The Pima Community College baseball program (45-16) is back on top of NJCAA Region I, Division I and is headed to the West District Tournament after winning the deciding Game Three in the Championship series.

Sophomore Braedon Mondeau (Cienega HS) hit an RBI triple as part of the six-run rally in the 9th inning but the Aztecs baseball team fell short in their comback bid falling to Arizona Western College 10-6 in Game 2 of the bgest-of-3 NJCAA Region I, Division I Championship series. The Pima Community College baseball team (44-16) put together a rally but it wasn’t enough on Friday in Game 2 of the NJCAA Region I, Division I Championship Series.

Sophomores Gage Mestas and Luis Garcia (Salpointe Catholic HS) combined to go 5 for 9 with five runs scored as the Aztecs baseball team beat Arizona Western College 9-7 in Game One of the NJCAA Region I, Division I Finals. The Pima Community College baseball team (44-15) protected its home field after Game One of the NJCAA Region I, Division I Championship series on Thursday against Arizona Western College (34-17).

The Pima Community College baseball team (42-15) rallied on two occasions to take Game One of the NJCAA Region I, Division I Semifinals.

The Pima Community College baseball team closed out the regular season on Saturday and got plenty of recognition on the All-ACCAC Conference and All-Region I lists.

Sophomore Braedon Mondeau (Cienega HS) produced with a two-run RBI single in the second game as the Aztecs baseball team split at Eastern Arizona College to finish the regular season at 41-15 overall and 26-12 in ACCAC play. The Pima Community College baseball team (41-15, 26-12 in ACCAC) finished up regular season play on Saturday in a split at Eastern Arizona College (25-29, 14-24).

Sophomore Gage Mestas finished 3 for 9 with four RBIs and three runs scored as the Aztecs baseball team split with South Mountain Community College; winning 6-4 and falling 10-4. The Pima Community College baseball team (40-14, 25-11 in ACCAC) took the first game but dropped the second game of its ACCAC doubleheader against South Mountain Community College (41-13, 25-11) on Tuesday at the West Campus Aztec Field.

The Aztecs baseball team split at Arizona Western College winning 15-7 and falling 8-7 as freshman Benji Cazares finished the day 4 for 7 with four RBIs, four walks, three doubles and a run scored while sophomore Andrew Stucky was 1 for 4 with eight runs, four walks and an RBI. The Pima Community College baseball team (39-13, 24-10 in ACCAC) played a pivotal ACCAC Division I doubleheader at Arizona Western College (28-15, 21-13) on Saturday in a matchup between two potential NJCAA Region I, Division I playoff contenders.
