Shehata Drains Seven 3-Pointers in Men's Basketball Win

The Pima Community College men's basketball team (11-8, 6-5 in ACCAC) won a high scoring affair on Saturday against Scottsdale Community College (9-10, 1-10).

The Aztecs scored in triple digits for the fourth time this season in their 104-94 win. The Aztecs have won five of their last six games.

Up 77-76 with a little more than eight minutes to go, the Aztecs went on an 8-0 run that was capped off by a Yusef Shehata (Amphitheater HS) three-pointer to make it 85-76 with 7:09 left in the game. The Artichokes cut Pima's lead to 97-90 with 2:08 to go but Keven Biggs (Cienega HS) and Shehata each hit two free throws to put the Aztecs back on top by double digits. The Aztecs led by as much as 10 points in the first half and held on to a 50-45 at the break.

Shehata, a sophomore, finished with a team-high 27 points as he hit seven 3-pointers for the game. Fellow sophomore Justice Martion scored 25 points to go along with six rebounds and two blocks.

Freshman Kwintin Williams had 17 points, six rebounds and two assists while fellow freshman Keven Biggs had a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Dakota Kordsiemon (Catalina Foothills HS) came off the bench and scored all 11 of his points in the second half.

The Aztecs will play their next three games on the road. They'll play at Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
