Aztecs Men's Golf places fourth at Gaucho Spring Shootout
The Pima Community College men's golf team completed its fourth tournament of the season on Sunday and Monday at the Corte Bella Golf Club in Sun City West, AZ.
- The Aztecs took fourth place in the final team standings at the Gaucho Spring Shootout with a two-day total of 607 (307-300). The Aztecs finished 5-strokes behind Paradise Valley Community College (602-303-299) and 13-strokes back from Glendale Community College (594-302-292) for second place. South Mountain Community College took first place with 579 (286-293).
- Freshman Daniel Henely (Cienega HS) had the top placement for the Aztecs as he finished in 11th place. He shot a 3-over par 74, improving his first round by 4-strokes as he finished with a 152 (78-74).
- Freshman AJ Quihuis (Salpointe Catholic HS) also shot a 74 in the final round as he improved by 5-strokes and closed it out with a 153 (79-74) finishing tied for 12th place. Freshman Caleb Knight also tied for 12th place after he shot a 153 (76-77).
- Freshman Jay Shero closed out his first round with a 74 and was tied for 15th place in the final standings with a 154 (74-80).
- The Aztecs will compete in the Estrella Mountain CC Invitational on April 9-10 at the Tres Rios Golf Course in Goodyear, AZ. Teams will begin to tee off around 8:00 a.m.
