The Pima Community College men’s golf team competed in its sixth and final regular season tournament of the 2024 season on Monday and Tuesday at the Eastern Arizona College Invitational held at the Mt. Graham Golf Club in Thatcher.

Freshman Caysen Wright earned his third medal in five tournaments as he tied for fifth place with a 2-under 142 (71-71). Freshman Gabe Herbst shot 3-under par 69 in the final round as he placed 17th with a score of 147 (78-69). The Aztecs took fifth place at the SMCC Invitational. Photos by Stephanie van Latum

The Pima Community College men’s golf team closed out its fifth regular season tournament on Wednesday at the South Mountain CC Invitational held at the Aguila Golf Course in Laveen Village.

The Aztecs Men's Golf team produced their best finish in the team standings so far this season as they took third place with a two-day score of 613 (303-310) at the Estrella Mountain CC Invitational on Saturday in Goodyear, AZ. The Pima Community College men’s golf team competed in its third tournament of the season on Friday and Saturday in Goodyear, AZ.

Freshman Caysen Wright took first place in the individual standings as he shot a two-day score of 136 (4-under par). He finished with a 5-under 65 in the first round and a 1-over par 71 in the final round of the Paradise Valley CC Invitational. The Aztecs finished fourth in the team standings. The Pima Community College men’s golf team closed out its second tournament of the season on Monday at the Paradise Valley CC Invitational held at the Encanto Golf Course in Phoenix.

Freshman Caysen Wright shot a 6-under par 66 and finished tied for eighth place with a 141 (66-75) while sophomore Luis Lopez (Sahuarita HS) shot a 1-under par 71 in the second round and was tied for 16th place with a 145 (74-71). The Pima Community College Athletics department set new records with 11 of the 13 teams receiving NJCAA All-Academic recognition and a new school record of 74 student-athletes earning All-Academic distinction.

Pima Community College men’s golfer Daniel Henely (Cienega HS) has decided to continue at the NCAA Division I level.

The Pima Community College men’s golf team closed out the 2023 season on Friday in the final round of the NJCAA Division I National Championships at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas.

Sophomore Jay Shero shot a 2-under par 70 for the second straight round as he sits tied for 13th place and six-strokes behind the leader. Freshman Herman Holst shot his best round of the tournament as he finished with an even-par 72. Sophomore Max Krueger (Salpointe Catholic HS) leads by 1-stroke after two rounds of play at the NJCAA Region I, Division I Championships. He has a two-day total of 146 (72-74) as Pima men's golf leads by 13-strokes in the team standings with a 594 (298-296). Sophomore Caleb Knight and Max Krueger (Salpointe Catholic HS) earned medals for their top five finishes at the Eastern Arizona College Invitational.
