German, Contreras and Ishihara each score two as Aztecs men's soccer overwhelms GateWay CC

The Pima Community College men's soccer team (6-1-1, 2-0 in ACCAC) earned a one-sided victory on the road on Thursday.

• The No. 7 ranked Aztecs defeated GateWay Community College 8-1 as three players scored multiple goals.
• Sophomores Isaias German and Itsuki Ishihara along with freshman Jacob Contreras (Ironwood Ridge HS) each netted two goals. They each scored one per half. The Aztecs led 4-0 at the break.
• Sophomore Ricky Gordillo (Maya HS) contributed with three assists while freshman Esteban Manzo (Salpointe Catholic HS) had two assists.
• Sophomore Alec Nguyen (Sahuaro HS) and freshman Seung Eon Kim produced the other two goals for the Aztecs.
• The Aztecs held the Geckos (0-10, 0-3) to two shots on goal for the game. Sophomore Nils Roth finished with one save.

The Aztecs will be back on the road on Saturday to play an afternoon game at South Mountain Community College. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m.
